The 6th SEMPO Search Engine Marketing Report is out and according to Nauveet Kaushal, there is much good news about SEO.

The SEO marketing industry has grown 8% in 2009 with a projected growth of 14% in 2010. This growth comes mostly at the expense of print advertising.

97% of the companies surveyed were paying to use Google adwords. 50% were using Yahoo but the rate was declining.

71% of companies advertise on Google Search network, while 56% use the Google content network(keyword targeted).

More than 50% of the companies expect to spend more in 2010.

Companies using social media marketing grew slowly.
73% of the companies had a budget of < $25k for social media      and 23% made no expenditures.

Roughly 75% of the companies were using Facebook (74%) and Twitter (75%).

Only 9% of the companies project that they will shrink their seo budget this year.

All in all, it seems that SEO is a growth industry. Wouldn’t you agree?
