Come back from time to time, I will have more tips.
1. Automate as much as possible: saves time, money, frustration and your fingers plus all the other benefits too numerous to mention like backlinks.
2. Make a schedule for daily activities and keep a 10 things to do on a text doc. like Word. Remove and add items. Watch progress.
3. Organize your C:drive into topic folders. You can add aname or aaaaname etc. to prioritize the location of the files as they will be alphabetized.
4. Every day, learn something new about your endeavor. I call it an edge.
5. Learn anti-mouse methods to avoid using the mouse. Instead use the keyboard to save time. Examples: Alt-Tab & Windows Icon-D, Windows-E there are many more.
6. Take a chance on some of the emails you receive. Limit your exposure to topics that interest you like SEO. There you will get a sense of coming trends.
7. Try to avoid the temptation of buying 1-2 years of a program or app because of a discount. Things happen fast. A year is a long time.
8. Check your spam folder when you think you have not received an email.
9. Program not working? Sometimes a reboot=restart is all that is needed.
10. Surround yourself with positive people or if those close to you are not supportive, keep your info/progress to yourself as much as possible.
11. Keep a calendar of programs you purchase. Date – time – cost and whether a refund is available with suspense date. Post it on your wall or somewhere it will remind you. You can test drive a program and get a refund if it doesn’t deliver.
12. Self – study your behavior. Are you wasting time and why. Are you avoiding certain things that need to be done now. See item #2.
13. There are good tech supporters and not so good. If you don’t get satisfaction, try again.
14. Personally, if I join a program, I try to get deep enough to check out customer support asap. If it is lousy, I leave. I have done this as soon as 48 hours into a program. Don’t hesitate to do this. What if you are at a critical point in a transaction and can’t get support, you may lose the deal.
15. Be cautious of mentoring, no one knows everything and things change fast. If you are unemployed, you may have to give on this.
16. Study viral marketing – you will need your own style. Twitter, Facebook etc. are changing things and may soon change the dynamics of the “list.” I am putting together a book on Twitter.
17. If use a blog or Twitter, you should post once a day and check you tweets and direct messages. Some blogs may not need daily posts.
18. You can use a website but a blog is more dynamic from Google’s point of view.
19. You may never be the fastest gun in the West, so just get started, keep going and get better.
20. Know that you are playing by new rules – a Paradigm Shift. Things go back to the starting point and proceed from there with new rules. Learn the new rules.
21. Automate everything you can. If you are doing repetitive hand operations, you should look into automating.
